Assistant Manager Facility Housekeeping
Location: Charni Road,Mumbai
Department: Housekeeping & Soft Services
Function: Non-Clinical Operations
Job Purpose:
To manage and oversee housekeeping and soft services operations across the hospital, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, infection control, operational efficiency, and patient satisfaction in line with NABH/JCI guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Housekeeping & Infection Control
- Ensure effective clinical sanitation, deep cleaning, and disinfection protocols
- Work closely with Infection Control teams to prevent HAIs
- Maintain infrastructure including flooring, walls, and hospital assets
2. Ambience & Facility Management
- Ensure readiness of OPD areas, patient rooms, and public spaces
- Oversee cleaning of upholstery and soft furnishings
- Manage hygiene bins,fragrance systems, and vendor services
3. Budget & Financial Control
- Track expenses and manage housekeeping budgets
- Handle invoice verification and service entry (SAP/ERP)
- Monitor cost trends and control variances
4. Inventory & Store Management
- Maintain stock of housekeeping consumables and PPE
- Ensure optimal par levels and prevent stock-outs
- Follow safety and storage compliance norms
5. Patient Experience
- Monitor cleanliness-related patient feedback scores
- Handle complaints and ensure timely resolution
- Drive service recovery and improve satisfaction metrics
6. Compliance & Quality
- Ensure adherence to NABH/JCI standards and audit readiness
- Maintain proper documentation, logs, and safety records
- Ensure biomedical waste segregation and compliance
7. Vendor Management
- Manage housekeeping vendors and service providers
- Conduct monthly reviews and evaluate SLA performance
- Ensure service quality and accountability
8. Team Management
- Train and supervise housekeeping staff and supervisors
- Manage shift operations and manpower planning
- Drive team performance and discipline
Key Skills:
- Strong knowledge of hospital housekeeping & infection control
- Vendor and team management skills
- Budgeting and inventory management
- ERP/SAP knowledge preferred
- Excellent communication and problem-solving ability
Qualifications:
- Required: Graduation in any discipline
- Preferred: Degree in Hospital / Hospitality Management
Experience:
- Required: 5+ years in housekeeping/facility management (hospital/hospitality)
- Preferred: Experience in NABH/JCI accredited hospitals
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Patient satisfaction scores(cleanliness & hygiene)
- Audit compliance (NABH/JCI)
- Zero stock-outs of consumables
- Timely invoice processing and cost control
- OPD & facility readiness
