Job Description
We are Hiring a Key Account Manager - Modern Trade for a leading FMCG Brand.
Education: MBA - Marketing
Location: Mumbai
Industry & Candidate Preference: Only from FMCG, Food, Beverage, Dairy (Non-Food industries not considered)
Experience: Must have experience in managing Key Modern Trade Accounts spread across India, interacting with the Category Managers at the respective Modern Trade chains.
Job Objective:
- The Key Account Manager will be responsible for managing and nurturing relationships with key Modern Trade (MT) clients in the region, ensuring availability, visibility, assortment, and merchandising for the products.
- He/she will work closely with the sales leadership team and other key stakeholders to drive strategic growth in the MT channel.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and nurture relationships with key accounts and store managers within the MT channel to drive sales. This involves regular communication, understanding their needs, and addressing any concerns or issues they may have.
- Create comprehensive account plans that outline strategies for growing sales, increasing market share and maximizing profitability within each key account.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts and other agreements with key accounts to ensure mutually beneficial terms for both parties. This may involve pricing discussions, promotional strategies and terms of sale.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue growth within key accounts. This requires a strong distribution/dealer network to expand distribution channels and identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations summarizing account performance and opportunities for improvement.
- Work closely with internal teams such as sales, marketing, operations and logistics to ensure seamless execution of account strategies.
- Visit stores to drive hygiene for stock and freezers for better display of product and ensure stock receipts and documentation.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Proven experience in account management or sales within the MT channel, with a track record of successfully managing key client relationships.
- Strong understanding of MT trends, technologies and best practices.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
