About the Department:
Direct channel is one of the proprietary channels at HDFC Life, comprising of 4 verticals:
- Branch Customer Service & Sales (BCSS) who caters to customer walk-ins at HDFC Life branches.
- Loyalty where leads are provided by Outbound & Inbound Contact Centres and portfolio of customers are classified on the basis of different campaigns.
- Inside Sales is a contact centre led vertical which works on existing customer leads for closures and also passes warm leads to Loyalty
- Maturity works specifically on maturing policy base for re-investment
Direct channel has access to a large HDFC Life customer base and works on cross-sell and up-sell opportunities. Being a proprietary channel, its sales team has access to vast number of in-house developed digital platforms, streamlined processes and capability building opportunities to develop knowledge and skills.
Purpose of the Job
To drive the end-to-end execution of Annuity campaigns across the Direct Channel by leveraging data-led insights and ensuring field-level discipline. Simultaneously, the role is responsible for implementing theInside Track training framework to uplift the Front-Line Sales (FLS) capability, moving them from low-performance to improved throughput through structured interventions.
Roles & Responsibilities
1.Annuity Campaign Execution & Governance
- Data-Driven Planning: Collaborate with Business Insights and Data Labs to gather high-propensity lead sets for Annuity products.
- Execution & Extraction: Drive the implementation of Annuity campaigns (e.g., Retirement planning, Pension solutions) in the field to maximize conversion (extraction efficiency).
- Field Governance: Lead regular Field Review Calls to ensure campaign adherence, pitch quality, and lead disposal discipline.
- Insight Generation: Use data cuts to identify gaps in campaign performance and suggest tactical "course corrections" to field leadership.
2. FLS Capability Development
- Structured Interventions: Execute a minimum of 12 training interventions per month for the 0–12M vintage FLS to ensure rapid onboarding and productivity.
- Classroom Training: Facilitate 3 mini-sessions per week at Trainer-led locations, focusing on product knowledge and selling techniques.
- Advanced Selling Skills: Deploy customized training modules for Vintage FLS (>3 years), focusing on complex Product structures and high-ticket closure skills.
- Insurance Ki Paathshala: Organize cross-territory RH/TH sessions and "Leaders Speak" series via the Insurance Ki Paathshala and Zonal connects.
- AI Certification: Drive and track AI-enabled certifications across all FLS vintages to ensure digital-first sales proficiency.
- Performance Tracking (RAG): Conduct quarterly RAG (Red-Amber-Green) Analysis of learners. The primary KPI is the movement of low-performing FLS from Red to Amber.
3. Data Analytics & Presentation
- Business Reviews: Prepare high-impact slide decks for business reviews, translating complex data into actionable business insights.
- Performance Dashboards: Maintain and update campaign trackers using advanced Excel (pivots, lookups, and data visualization).
- Solutioning: Present "data stories" to stakeholders that highlight campaign ROI and FLS capability trends.
Essential Knowledge & Skills
- Annuity Product Expertise: Understanding of annuity as a product in life insurance
- Advanced Data Skills: Proficiency in Excel and the ability to interpret data from Business Intelligence tools.
- Presentation Excellence: Ability to create professional, board-ready PowerPoint presentations.
- Training & Coaching: Hands-on experience in conducting sales training and field coaching.
- Key Attributes: Strong communication skills, execution-focused mindset, and the ability to influence field teams.
Education
- Graduate / Engineer from Premium Institute
Work Exp.
- 2 to 5 years in Sales Operations, Campaign Management, or Sales Training (L&D) within the Life Insurance industry.
