Role & responsibilities

1. Billing & Payment Processing

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to generate customer bills accurately.
  
• Accept and process cash, UPI, debit/credit cards, and other digital payments.
  
• Issue invoices, receipts, and payment confirmations to customers.
  
• Ensure all transactions are entered correctly in the system.
  

2. Cash Handling

• Maintain accurate cash balance in the cash drawer.
  
• Perform opening and closing cash counts daily.
  
• Record and report cash discrepancies immediately to the supervisor.
  
• Ensure proper handling of refunds, exchanges, and cancellations as per store policy.
  

3. Customer Service

• Greet customers politely and assist them at the billing counter.
  
• Resolve billing queries or payment issues efficiently.
  
• Maintain a friendly and professional attitude to enhance customer experience.
  

4. Sales Support

• Inform customers about ongoing offers, discounts, loyalty programs, and promotions.
  
• Encourage add-on sales such as accessories or related products.
  

5. Record Keeping & Reporting

• Maintain daily sales reports and transaction records.
  
• Assist in preparing day-end sales reconciliation reports.
  
• Coordinate with the accounts department for financial records.
  

6. Inventory & Store Coordination

• Inform the store manager about low stock items observed during billing.
  
• Ensure barcodes, price tags, and product codes are correctly scanned.
  

7. Store Discipline & Security

• Ensure safe handling of cash and POS equipment.
  
• Follow store policies related to fraud prevention and loss control.
  
• Keep the billing area clean, organized, and professional.

Experience

• 0 – 2 years experience in retail cashiering, billing, or customer service preferred.
  
• Freshers with good communication and computer knowledge may also apply.
  

Skills & Abilities

• Basic knowledge of POS billing systems and computer operations.
  
• Familiar with UPI, card payments, and digital transactions.
  
• Good communication skills in Hindi and basic English.
  
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
