ABOUT THE ROLE

Sakal Media Group is looking for a senior advertising sales leader to own the Mumbai revenue mandate across print, digital, and events. This is a P&L-oriented role reporting into senior leadership, with full accountability for topline, team performance, and market share in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own and deliver the annual advertising revenue target for the Mumbai unit across print, digital, branded content, and event sponsorships.
• Build and manage a multi-layered sales structure — direct corporate sales, agency relationships, retail, government/PSU, and classifieds/response.
• Drive national agency and client relationships across BFSI, real estate, education, auto, retail, healthcare, and FMCG categories.
• Design and execute integrated media solutions and IP-led revenue properties in partnership with Marketing and Events.
• Build category and territory-wise revenue plans; forecast accurately and manage the monthly and quarterly funnel with discipline.
• Lead, hire, and develop a sales team of Managers and Executives; set KPIs, review rigour, and incentive design in coordination with HR.
• Manage rate governance, yield, credit control, and collections in coordination with Finance.
• Track competition pricing and market share; recommend pricing and product interventions to leadership.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• 10 – 18 years in media advertising sales, with at least 4 years leading a team in a print, digital, radio, or television organisation.
• Proven record of owning revenue targets upward of 15 – 25 Cr annually.
• Strong existing relationships with Mumbai-based media agencies and direct clients.
• Demonstrated ability to sell integrated solutions, not single-medium inventory.
• Strong commercial acumen — pricing, yield, collections, and contract negotiation.
• Ability to operate credibly with CXO-level clients and internal leadership.
• Fluency in English and Hindi; working knowledge of Marathi will be an added advantage.
