Vessel Captain

Job Description

Vessel Operations: Assume overall command and responsibility for the vessel's operations, including navigation, maneuvering, and safety
Safety: Ensure the safety and security of the vessel, crew, passengers, and cargo, complying with maritime regulations and safety protocols
Navigation: Oversee the navigation of the vessel, including charting courses, handling charts, and monitoring weather and sea conditions to ensure safe passage
Crew Management: Supervise and manage the crew, delegating tasks, and ensuring that they perform their duties effectively
Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergencies, such as adverse weather, equipment failure, medical issues, or search and rescue operations
Communication: Maintain communication with shore authorities, other vessels, and onboard personnel, using radio and other communication equipment
Maintenance: Ensure that the vessel is properly maintained, and oversee repairs and maintenance tasks as needed
Regulatory Compliance: Comply with local, national, and international maritime regulations and ensure that the vessel meets all safety and operational requirements
