1. Job Summary

Dynamic and technically strong Trainee Graduate/Diploma Engineer specializing in Electrical and Mechanical engineering. The trainee will assist the operation team in ensuring optimal operation, reliability, and safety of machines, utilities, and plant equipment. This role offers hands-on exposure to preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities and documentations

2. Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Activities

• Understand and Support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for electrical and mechanical equipments and its documents.
• Assist in troubleshooting electrical systems
• Review and Monitor 52 weeks PPM calendar and its scheduling.
• Assist in the installation, commissioning, and testing of new equipment.

Technical Support

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and machine manuals.
• Support root-cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures.
• Learn and follow 5S, TPM, ISO, safety, and other engineering standards.
• Work with vendors, OEMs, and cross-functional teams during maintenance activities.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to electrical safety, lockout/tagout procedures, and company HSE policies.
• Report unsafe practices, hazards, and near-miss incidents.

Documentation

• Maintain maintenance records, service reports, checklists, and calibration documentation.
• Prepare daily and weekly maintenance reports for review by the Maintenance Engineer.

3. Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Willingness to work in shifts, shop floor environment, and handle hands-on maintenance tasks.

4. Essential Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

• Exposure to maintenance tools, multimeters, torque wrenches, and measuring instruments.
• Basic understanding of condition monitoring (vibration, thermography, oil analysis).

Soft Skills

• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
• Attention to detail and a safety-first approach.

5. Training & Development

Trainee will undergo structured training in:

• Electrical systems & industrial automation basics.
• Mechanical maintenance & equipment reliability.
• Plant utilities (compressors, boilers, chillers, etc.).
• Preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
• Safety training: LOTO, PPE, firefighting, electrical safety, risk assessment.
• CMMS / SAP PM module (as applicable).

6. Career Path

After successful completion of the training period, the trainee may progress to roles such as:

• Maintenance Engineer/planner – Electrical/Mechanical
• Maintenance Engineer – Mechanical
• Subject matter Engineer
• Plant Engineer
