Textile Designer

Job Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Textile Designer at Farida Gupta in Delhi. The Textile Designer will be responsible but not limited to the following. Administrative Tasks: Maintain organized records of design iterations, revisions, and project timelines. Assist in managing design files, databases, and documentation. Research and Inspiration: Conduct research on emerging trends, color palettes, and design inspirations in the textile and fashion industry. Create mood boards and gather visual references to support the design process. Conceptualization and Ideation: Collaborate with senior designers to brainstorm and develop new textile design concepts. Assist in creating initial sketches, illustrations, or digital renderings of design ideas. Design Development: Translate design concepts into detailed patterns, motifs, and repeats using software tools like Adobe Illustrator or similar applications. Generate colorways and explore different color combinations for the textile designs. Technical Specifications: Assist in creating accurate technical specifications and design documents for production purposes. Ensure that designs meet production requirements and can be feasibly manufactured. Sample Development and Testing: Support the creation of physical samples by working with production teams or manufacturers. Participate in sample testing, making necessary adjustments to achieve desired outcomes. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, merchandisers, and production staff, to ensure alignment throughout the design and production process. Effectively communicate design ideas and concepts to team members and stakeholders. Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, competitor offerings, and consumer preferences related to textiles and design. Qualifications Embroidery and Textile Prints skills Graphic Design and Textiles skills Experience in creating unique and innovative textile designs Ability to work collaboratively in a creative team environment Knowledge of different printing techniques and fabric materials Strong attention to detail and creative flair Bachelor's degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or related field
