Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Health Sciences

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and validate educational curriculum and AI-assisted content for technical accuracy, grade-level appropriateness, and alignment with Health Science and Nursing topics.
• Review and refine assessments, knowledge checks, formative questions, and certification preparation content to ensure accurate answer keys and industry alignment.
• Conduct curriculum correlation and state/national standards mapping against applicable CTE frameworks.
• Review Student Books and instructional materials for medical accuracy, pedagogy, terminology, and grade-level appropriateness.
• Review multimedia content including images, videos, animations, and interactive learning assets for subject accuracy and instructional effectiveness.
• Identify content gaps, inconsistencies, and required revisions.
• Validate learning objectives, assessments, and instructional flow.
• Collaborate with instructional designers, content developers, editors, media teams, and project managers to finalize course materials.
• Participate in review meetings and ensure high-quality, standards-aligned content prior to final publication.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Nursing, Health Science, Allied Health, Public Health, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field RN/LPN certification preferred
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in teaching, SME, curriculum development, instructional design, or the healthcare industry
• Strong knowledge of healthcare systems, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
• Understanding of patient care practices, infection prevention, and healthcare ethics Familiarity with Allied Health and Nursing career pathways
• Knowledge of CTE Health Science curriculum and state/national educational standards Experience with curriculum development, instructional design, or educational publishing
• Strong analytical, editing, proofreading, and quality assurance skills
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and online collaboration tools
• Ability to work collaboratively and meet project deadlines
