Our client is seeking a Sr. Purchase Engineer (Casting) to join their team in Ambernath, India.
Candidate will be responsible for purchasing and supplier development for key commodities including castings, forgings, machined parts, steel castings, and casting materials such as (CI, SGCI, aluminum casting, carbon steel, LM25 LM6). The role involves supplier identification and sourcing, quotation evaluation, comparison sheet preparation, price negotiation, supplier performance evaluation, and cost-saving initiatives. Coordinate with Quality Assurance, Production, Purchase and suppliers to ensure casting components meet required specifications and quality standards, timely delivery, component availability, and production deadlines. The role also includes PO generation, procurement reporting, supplier visits, and resolving supply chain issues.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Identify and source suppliers for various components, including castings, forgings, machined parts, steel castings, machine casting, casting materials (CI, SGCI, carbon steel, LM25, LM6)
- To take quotations from supplier preparing comparison sheets.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, lead time, and delivery reliability.
- Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure all casting components meet required specifications and industry standards.
- Coordinate with the production team to ensure timely delivery and availability of components.
- Implement cost-saving strategies, such as bulk purchasing or long-term supplier agreements.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and generate PO reports on purchasing metrics, cost savings, and supplier performance.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to resolve supply chain issues and meet production deadlines.
- Visit suppliers as per requirements .

Job Requirements
Education: BE - Mechanical Engineering
Experience: 4-7 years of experience in experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably with a focus on casting components or related industries.

- Proven purchasing or procurement, preferably within a manufacturing environment focused on casting components .
- Strong understanding of opendie closedie forging and casting processes (sand casting, die casting, investment casting, etc.), materials used in casting, and related quality standards.
- Experience with ERP software would be an added advantage.
- Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills to interact with suppliers and internal teams.
- Proven purchasing or procurement, preferably within a manufacturing environment focused on casting components .
