Our client is seeking a Senior Engineer, Vendor Development to join their team in Ambernath, India.

Candidate will be responsible for new vendor development and supplier qualification for key commodities including castings, forgings, fabrication parts & machined components, Electrical & Electrical Components. The role involves supplier evaluation, audits, cost negotiation, quality improvement, APQP/PPAP, component development, and new product launch support. Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Production, Purchase and suppliers to resolve technical issues, improve supplier performance, reduce costs, enhance capacity, and ensure quality and project timelines are met.

Duties / Responsibilities:

1. Responsibilities will include New vendor development (castings, forgings, fabrication parts & machined components), Electrical & Electrical Components
2. Cross-functional coordination to qualify new components, supporting issues with current production, developing new suppliers to reduce cost, increase capacity and auditing suppliers to ensure process conformance.
3. Manage the customer specific requirements and offer technical support. Work on multiple phases or sub-tasks of projects, with results impacting on project completion.
4. Experience in Cost Estimation, Knowledge of Quality Management System
5. Responsible for leading the solution for supplier component concerns, driving Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), customer interaction, supplier interaction, Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) support, supplier component development and approval and supplier cost improvements
6. Assist with new product launch by working with suppliers to ensure that key milestones are achieved
7. Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements.
8. Keep up with current and developing manufacturing and engineering trends that concern product quality
9. Contribute to continuous improvement activities

10. Provide technical expertise to customers/licensees in solving technical problems associated with product supply and test facilities
11. Follow-up for manufacturing parts from vendor knowledge of Machine, costing, ERP, Purchasing cycle from procuring to pay (P2P)
13.Managing and ensuring vendor suppliers and services according to project timelines

Job Requirements

Education: B.E. - Mechanical

Experience:

- In Years 4-8 years of experience required
- Area of Experience Required - Mechanical Equipment manufacturer/Electrical motor/Rotating Equipment manufacturer.

Skills to have:
1. Should have good skills of costing and negotiate cost with supplier along with required quality level.
2. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, engineering discipline, and quality processes.
3. Technical background, with ability to read/interpret engineering drawings and 3D CAD Models.
4. Proven experience as a vendor development personnel
5. Excellent interpersonal skills
