Job Description

Position for a Software Development Engineer in Testing (SDET) who can independently lead the testing of complex software systems based on Python and Jinja framework, focusing on User Interface, User Experience, functional and optimization testing as well as test automation.

Educational and Certification Requirements:

Candidates having Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.), Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) or above, from a recognized university will be preferred.
Certifications similar to ISTQB, CAST or CSTE will be an added advantage.

Job Duties Responsibilities:

As a SDET requires to carry out complete system testing of the products being developed within Avasant Labs
Understanding of Agile methodology as a Software Development Lifecycle Process is a necessity
They should have earlier worked on B2B SaaS products with an understanding of Dashboards, Workflows and Data based products
The ability to understand complex issues and help effectively communicating those to others is a key for this role
Hence, a prior experience of working at a multinational company or with clients from multiple geographies will be advantageous

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

1. As a SDET, you will work closely working with developers to automate developed features and manual testing of the new features.
2. You will be responsible for owning the complete architecture of automation framework planning and designing automation for performance, API and Web.
3. You would also be setting up automation infrastructure, which would need you to work on setting triggers in CI/CD pipeline.
4. You will be building high-quality automation frameworks to cover end to end testing of your owned features.
5. Contributing towards at all levels of the test pyramid.
6. Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open-source tools Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs liaise with internal teams (e.g., developers and product managers) to identify system requirements.
7. Monitor and debugging process results.
8. Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.
9. Automate testing flows on Web and APIs.

Requirements:

1. Strong expertise in automation testing of Web and APIs.
2. Proficient in Java/Python, shell scripting.
3. Experience with QA test automation technologies like Selenium WebDriver, RestAssured, TestNG, and Maven.
4. Experience with performance and/or security testing.
5. Must have knowledge of client server architecture and backend protocols.
6. Experience In Manual Testing for Web. This would include the development and execution of project-specific test plans.
7. Experience using SQL and Database Management Systems (DBMS),
8. Ability to learn and actively seek new skills and knowledge to keep up with the changing technologies, including bringing new ideas to the Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Able to handle multitask, triage issues, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
10. Must be self-motivated and know when to seek guidance; detail-orientation is a must.
11. Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform will be an added advantage.

Experience:
1 - 3 years of experience as an SDET, Software Tester or similar role.
