Job Description

SEWB (Social & Emotional Wellbeing) is an AI-powered digital health platform headquartered in Brisbane, Australia, building a next-generation mobile ecosystem that helps individuals and families monitor wellbeing, integrate wearable health data, access carers, and receive AI-driven health insights.

We are expanding our engineering team and are looking for an Intermediate Software Engineer with strong Node.js and AWS Serverless experience to help build the backend infrastructure powering the SEWB mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities

Develop scalable REST APIs using Node.js (Express) • Build backend services using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, S3, and Cognito • Integrate wearables and third-party health data platforms (Apple HealthKit, Google Fit, Fitbit) • Design and manage databases using Amazon Aurora (PostgreSQL) or DynamoDB • Work with the team to integrate AI/ML services (Amazon SageMaker) and OCR pipelines (Textract/Rekognition) • Collaborate with Flutter developers, DevOps engineers, and solution architects • Support secure, scalable cloud deployments and CI/CD pipelines

Required Skills

35 years experience in Node.js backend development • Strong knowledge of AWS serverless architecture (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudWatch) • Experience building secure REST APIs (OAuth2 / JWT) • Experience working with PostgreSQL or DynamoDB databases • Familiarity with mobile backend architecture and third-party API integrations
