Job Profile: Shadow Teacher / Learning Support Companion

For Beatrix (Age 9)

We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and committed Shadow Teacher to support our daughter Beatrix, a bright and sensitive 9-year-old child on the autism spectrum.

Beatrix is curious, expressive in her own ways and, thrives with structure, reassurance, and gentle guidance. She needs a consistent adult who can walk alongside her through her school day and therapy routines someone who understands that progress is built through trust, calm presence, and encouragement.

Role & Responsibilities

• Morning Support & Pick-up (Kalina/BKC Area)
• Pick up Beatrix from home at 7:45 AM and accompany her to school.
• School Support (MLSI School, BKC)
• Attend school with Beatrix each day.
• Support her with classroom routines, transitions, focus, and emotional regulation.
• Act as a bridge between Beatrix, her teachers, and her learning environment without replacing the teachers' role.
• Therapy Support (Charni Road)
• Accompany Beatrix to her daily therapy sessions after school.
• Reinforce strategies shared by therapists in a calm, kind and consistent manner.
• Emotional & Developmental Care
• Help Beatrix feel safe, understood, and confident.
• Observe and respond to her needs with empathy and patience.
• Maintain professional boundaries while building a warm, trusting bond.
  

Training & Support

• On-the-job training will be fully provided.
• Transport to and from school and therapy will be provided
• Prior experience with children on the spectrum is helpful but not mandatory.
• What matters most is the right attitude: kindness, reliability, emotional maturity, and willingness to learn.
  

Ideal Candidate

• Calm, patient, and emotionally grounded
• Naturally empathetic and observant
• Comfortable working closely with a child with special needs
• Punctual, responsible, and consistent
• Open to guidance from parents, teachers, and therapists
• Background in education, psychology, special education, or caregiving is a plus (but not required)
