Senior RF Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior RF Design Engineer to lead and contribute to the development of advanced RF systems for mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in RF system architecture, simulation of passive and active components, and hands-on experience with industry-standard tools. This role demands technical leadership, documentation discipline, and collaborative teamwork.

• Design and develop RF systems, including front-end architectures, filters, amplifiers, and matching networks.


• Perform electromagnetic simulations using tools such as CST Microwave Studio, Keysight ADS, and ANSYS HFSS.


• Optimize performance of passive and active RF components through iterative simulation and prototyping.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (minimum team size: 5), including mechanical, digital, and firmware engineers.


• Prepare, maintain, and review technical documentation, including design reports, test procedures, and compliance matrices.


• Support system integration, validation, and troubleshooting during development and testing.


• Ensure designs meet MIL-grade specifications, including EMI/EMC, and ESS standards.

• Bachelor s or Master s degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Communication Engineering.


• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in RF design and simulation.


• Proficiency in CST, ADS, HFSS, and other RF simulation tools.


• Strong understanding of RF fundamentals: impedance matching, S-parameters, noise figure, gain, and linearity.


• Experience in schematic capture, PCB layout for RF circuits, and design for manufacturability.


• Familiarity with RF test equipment: VNA, spectrum analyzer, signal generators, etc.


• Excellent documentation and communication skills.


• Prior experience working with DRDO or defense-related projects is a strong advantage.


• Experience in antenna design and array systems.


• Exposure to FPGA-based RF signal processing.


• Knowledge of MIL-STD compliance and environmental testing.
