ROLE OVERVIEW

The Sr. Manager Purchase will spearhead procurement operations across multiple locations, ensuring timely availability of quality raw materials, food products, and FMCG items at optimal cost. This is a strategic leadership role requiring deep expertise in vendor management, negotiation, and supply chain planning within the Food & Beverage industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Procurement Strategy & Planning

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives
• Forecast demand and ensure uninterrupted supply of food products and FMCG items
• Drive cost optimization initiatives without compromising product quality

2. Vendor Management

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors and suppliers across categories
• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships; negotiate favorable long-term contracts
• Conduct structured vendor performance reviews, audits, and scorecards

3. Purchase Operations

• Oversee the end-to-end procurement cycle — from indenting to final delivery
• Ensure timely procurement for all base kitchens and operational units across locations
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate closely with warehouse and logistics teams

4. Cost Control & Negotiation

• Lead price negotiations, rate contracts, and bulk purchasing agreements
• Track market trends in food commodities and FMCG pricing to manage volatility
• Implement cost-saving initiatives and develop alternative sourcing strategies

5. Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure all procurement activities comply with food safety standards and regulatory norms
• Partner with QA teams to enforce quality checks and vendor compliance protocols
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, contracts, and audit-ready records

6. Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor, and inspire the procurement team across multiple regions
• Define KPIs, monitor team performance, and provide regular feedback
• Champion process improvements, digital tools, and automation initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, or related field
• MBA preferred; professional certifications in Procurement/SCM are an added advantage

Experience

• 8–12 years of progressive experience in procurement/purchase functions
• Mandatory: hands-on experience in Food Products and FMCG procurement
• Highly preferred: background in the Food & Beverage industry
• Demonstrated experience managing multi-location or PAN India operations
