Overall Job Purpose:

This role leads the day to day operations for Investment Funds Oversight function, getting involved in the operation of the Prudential onshore unit-linked funds, including the controls framework, change programmes and pricing oversight. Oversight of our third-party pricing agent including daily price checks, periodic monitoring, handling of pricing errors, and liaising with TPA on any element of their work for M&G in relation to the Prudential funds.

Key Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:

This role involves applying strong numerical and analytical skills, and previous practical experience in the UK financial services industry is essential, particularly with unit-linked funds. Responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the daily operation of unit-linked funds, across different systems and operating models, including review and approval of trades and internal/external cash transfers.
• Analysis and production of unit-linked fund data.
• Operation & maintenance of controls.
• Handling complex processes, and suggesting improvements, or helping design new solutions to meet business objectives.
• Handling pricing errors, including sourcing transaction scans, and calculating customer compensation.
• Performing complex reconciliations in pControl, and in supporting Excel workbooks.
• Investigating issues and handling complex queries, through to resolution.
• Disseminating quality information to internal stakeholders.
• Maintaining good working relationships with various internal stakeholders, including other teams within Asset Management Operations, Finance and the M&G Life business.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Educational Qualification

Must-Have Skills:

• Previous experience of performing or overseeing fund pricing, with a good understanding of NAV components.
• Experience of different fund and asset types, and of valuation methodologies.
• Good knowledge of UK regulatory & legislative requirements.
• Working knowledge of different systems and control frameworks.
• Strong analytical skills, with good attention to detail.
• Experience working with third party relationships.

Experience:

• 7-12 years of experience in financial services/asset management. Min 4 years of experience in Fund accounting oversight and supervisory or managerial role.

Educational Qualification:

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance. Professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CA, MBA Finance) are a plus.
• Relevant IOC or Investment Management qualification / Certification would be desirable.
• Investment management or fund accounting qualification ideal, or otherwise qualified by significant relevant experience.
