Senior Manager - Interior Designing

Job Description

The Senior Manager Interior Design leads the overall strategy, planning, and execution of interior design projects across the organization. This role is responsible for driving design innovation, managing large-scale or high-value projects, developing client relationships, and ensuring the firm’s creative and operational goals are met. The Senior Manager provides leadership to design teams and collaborates closely with clients, architects, consultants, and vendors to deliver exceptional design outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Strategic & Design Leadership.

2) Define and drive the overall design vision, philosophy, and quality standards for all projects.

3) Provide creative direction and oversight for conceptual and detailed design phases.

4) Review and approve design presentations, material selections, and technical drawings.

5) Mentor and guide design managers, senior designers, and project teams to achieve excellence.

6) Stay updated on global design trends, materials, technologies, and sustainability practices.

Project Management & Delivery

1) Oversee end-to-end project management of multiple large-scale interior projects (corporate, residential, retail, or hospitality).

2) Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the client’s objectives.

3) Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.

4) Review tender documents, BOQs, cost estimates, and vendor proposals.

5) Conduct regular site reviews to ensure design intent is executed accurately.

Client & Stakeholder Management

1) Act as a senior point of contact for key clients and stakeholders.

2) Lead client presentations, design discussions, and project reviews.

3) Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, vendors, and consultants.

4) Handle escalations, resolve project issues, and ensure client satisfaction.

Business & Team Development

1) Contribute to business development by supporting proposals, pitches, and presentations.

2) Participate in strategic planning and revenue growth initiatives.

3) Manage and develop team performance, succession planning, and training programs.

4) Support recruitment and resource planning for the design team.

Qualifications & Experience:

1) Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.

2) 8–15 years of professional experience in interior design, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or senior management role.

3) Proven experience managing complex, large-scale interior design projects.

4) Strong portfolio showcasing creativity, technical expertise, and project leadership.

5) Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Photoshop, and MS Office (or similar design tools).

6) Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.

7) Strong knowledge of design principles, materials, construction methods, and project delivery processes.
