Job Description
-Lead all database development, design, and optimization tasks across PostgreSQL and SQL Server environments.
-Collaborate with software engineering teams to review SQL queries, optimize performance, and ensure efficient schema designs.
-Architect and maintain development, staging, and production database environments, including environment setup and migration planning.
-Write and maintain database scripts: Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, Triggers using T-SQL and PL/pgSQL.
-Ensure high availability, regular backups, disaster recovery, and failover planning for critical systems.
-Utilize SQL Server DMVs/DMFs and PostgreSQL system catalogs for proactive database tuning and preventive maintenance.
-Automate routine database tasks and monitoring using BASH, Python, or other scripting tools.
-Integrate database systems across multiple projects, including schema migrations and data transformation scripts.
-Support and guide development and QA teams on database best practices and troubleshooting.
-Participate in Agile/SCRUM ceremonies and align database changes with sprint goals and story documents.
-Maintain security best practices, including access control, audit logging, and encryption policies.
-Drive continuous improvement in DevOps practices like versioning, CI/CD for database scripts, and incident/change management.

Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Database Administration and Development.
-Expert knowledge in SQL Server and PostgreSQL administration, design, and tuning.
-Proficient in writing complex T-SQL and PL/pgSQL procedures.
-Experience with schema migrations, data warehousing concepts, and ETL workflows.
-Familiarity with DevOps tools and Agile workflows, including CI/CD pipelines and environment automation.
-Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an emphasis on performance troubleshooting.
-Experience in scripting and automation using Bash, Python, or equivalent tools.
-Proven ability to lead and mentor teams in database-related initiatives.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
-Experience with cloud-based database hosting (AWS RDS, Azure SQL).
-Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
-Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools for database health (e.g., pgAdmin, SQL Monitor, Prometheus).
