Senior Engineer - Cost Management / Estimation

Job Description

Operational Focus

Analyze architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to prepare detailed quantity take-offs.
Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for various project components including civil, interior, and infrastructure works.
Ensure accuracy in quantities and item descriptions in line with project specifications.
Prepare detailed cost estimates using standard methods and market rates.
Perform rate analysis for construction activities using standard norms (DSR, CPWD, or project-specific).
Update rate databases regularly based on current supplier and contractor prices.
Assist in preparing bid proposals, tender documents, and pricing sheets.
Analyze and compare vendor quotations for material and subcontractor rates.
Support technical evaluations and negotiations during pre-contract phases.
Coordinate with the design, procurement, and project execution teams for inputs related to design changes, specifications, and construction methodology.
Interact with vendors and contractors to obtain rate benchmarks and technical clarifications.
Maintain documentation of all estimation work including assumptions, source of rates, and quantity calculations.
Prepare and submit estimation reports for internal reviews and approvals.

Assist in cost optimization, value engineering, and cost planning exercises.
