Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Hands-on engineer to develop and prototype a high-speed sensorless BLDC motor controller for a 230 VAC professional angle grinder. Work across motor-control firmware, power electronics, inverter debugging, motor testing and prototype development

Must-Have Skills

Strong experience in BLDC/PMSM motor control
Hands-on experience with sensorless six-step/trapezoidal commutation
Good understanding of BEMF zero-crossing, startup and open-loop to closed-loop transition
Strong Embedded C experience
Experience with dsPIC33 / STM32 / TI C2000 or similar motor-control MCU
Experience with 3-phase MOSFET/IGBT inverters
Experience with 300400 VDC / mains-powered motor drives
Strong knowledge of:
PWM and dead time
current sensing and current limiting
stall/locked-rotor protection
overcurrent, thermal and voltage protection
gate-driver circuits
Strong oscilloscope and laboratory debugging skills
Ability to independently bring a motor controller from prototype to working productPreferred candidate profile
