Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Design Engineer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving mechanical components, assemblies, and manufacturing solutions. The role requires strong technical expertise, hands-on experience in product design, and the ability to lead projects from concept through production while ensuring quality, cost, and performance objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and products based on customer requirements and industry standards.
• Prepare detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and engineering documentation.
• Lead product design and development projects from concept to production.
• Review customer specifications and convert them into practical engineering designs.
• Coordinate with production, quality, procurement, and project teams to ensure smooth product execution.
• Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection.
• Optimize existing product designs to improve manufacturability, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Resolve design-related issues during manufacturing and assembly.
• Conduct design reviews and implement engineering change requests (ECR/ECO).
• Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, safety regulations, and quality systems.
• Mentor and guide junior design engineers and CAD designers.
• Support customer discussions by providing technical solutions and design recommendations.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, CATIA, or Siemens NX.
• Experience in sheet metal, fabrication, machining, welded structures, and assembly design.
• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and engineering standards.
• Ability to prepare manufacturing drawings and BOMs.
• Understanding of material properties, fabrication methods, and production techniques.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and document control processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 2 years of experience in mechanical design engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in industrial equipment, fabrication, heavy engineering, material handling systems, or custom-built machinery is preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in product development and design validation.
• Knowledge of ISO quality standards and manufacturing best practices.
• Exposure to FEA, DFM (Design for Manufacturability), DFA (Design for Assembly), and value engineering.
• Experience in handling customer technical discussions and cross-functional project coordination.
