SBU Head - Finance Control & Legal

Job Description

Purpose/Objective

End to end responsible for: • financial governance and legal risk management for the SBU by ensuring budget discipline, cash visibility and compliant controls.
• payment governance and SAP/WBS/CTC integrity so spend aligns to approved baselines and audit expectations.
• contract legal review, notice management and dispute support with commercial teams to protect Adani’s position.
• financial risk monitoring across funding, working capital, claims exposure and statutory compliance obligations.
• Ensures transparent MIS, audit-ready records and SLA-driven closures across stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities of Role

1.
Drive annual/phase budgets, rolling forecasts and cashflow plans track variances and corrective actions.
2.
Run cost-to-complete and contingency governance with PMO/Projects flag overruns early.
3.
Ensure DOA-based payment controls, certifications and documentation for audit-ready processing.
4.
Maintain SAP/WBS/CTC discipline, cost coding integrity and financial MIS for governance forums.
5.
Review legal terms for key contracts and changes support notices, claims and dispute prevention strategy.
6.
Oversee statutory financial compliance and coordinate audits close observations with evidence trails.
7.
Support sales/CRM on financial compliance for demand letters, collections and registrations as required.
8.
Maintain risk register for financial/legal exposures and drive mitigation actions with owners.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications Essential CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) / B.
Com from a recognized Indian institution; qualification to match role seniority.
Desirable/Preferable CA / CFA / MBA (Finance) with exposure to real estate, project finance or treasury systems.
Work Experience (Cumulative) Total Years (Band) 12-20 years Years (Relevant) 9-16 years Seniority (desirable) Senior function leader Types of Organization Large real estate / infrastructure / hospitality developers, project-led corporates, NBFC / treasury-heavy environments.

Qualitative aspects Should combine strong control orientation with commercial understanding.
Exposure to multi-project, capex-intensive businesses is preferred.
