Qualifications
Degree/Diploma in Engineering or Science with recognized Safety Officer Certification as per Maharashtra Factory Rules.

Knowledge of Indian occupational health and safety regulations.
Experience 2-4 Year

The Safety Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and ensuring compliance with all applicable Indian safety laws , including the Factories Act, 1948 , Maharashtra Factories Rules , and other statutory safety requirements. The role focuses on maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, preventing accidents, and promoting a strong safety culture across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with the Factories Act, 1948 , Maharashtra Factories Rules , and applicable labor and safety laws.
Identify workplace hazards and conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
Conduct safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain statutory safety records, registers, and documentation as required by authorities.
Coordinate with government inspectors, auditors, and management on safety-related matters.
Ensure proper use of PPE, emergency preparedness, fire safety systems, and first-aid facilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels.
Attention to detail and the ability to enforce safety procedures and protocols.
Knowledge of Indian safety laws and regulations applicable to the industry.
