Job Description
RINA is currently recruiting for a Railway Rams Lead to join its office in Mumbai within the Electronics and System Engineering Division.
Mission
The Railway RAMS Engineer is responsible for ensuring that transportation systems are reliable, available, maintainable, and safe. Throughout different project phases, you will be instrumental in applying RAMS processes, analyzing data, and working closely with project stakeholders.
The successfull candidate will be the RAMS Lead and will report to the System Assurance Manager in the frame of the RINA team assigned to the project. The activity will be mainly at RINA Mumbay office.
Key Accountabilities
1. RAMS Process Management:
- Implement, supervise, and coordinate the RAMS process throughout all project phases.
-Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards in the development of key RAMS deliverables.
2. Risk Analysis and Assessment:
- Conduct risk assessments to identify and evaluate potential hazards and safety risks.
-Utilize qualitative and quantitiative RAMS methodologies (FMECA, event tree analysis, Fault tree analysis, workshops,..) to assess the impact of identified risks on systems safety.
3. Documentation and Deliverables:
- Contribute to the development and review of key RAMS deliverables, including safety plans, hazard logs, and safety cases.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation throughout project phases.
4. Collaboration with Stakeholders:
- Work closely with project teams, suppliers, infrastructure managers, operators, and relevant authorities.
- Participate in safety-related meetings and coordinate efforts to address safety concerns.
5. Testing and Commissioning Support:
- Support the testing and commissioning phases by ensuring that safety requirements are met.
- Review and assess test plans to validate the reliability and safety of the systems.
6. Reporting and Communication:
- Provide regular updates on RAMS activities and progress to project managers and stakeholders.
- Communicate safety-related issues, recommendations, and resolutions effectively.

Education
Master s Degree in Electronic/TLC Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience as a RAMS Engineer in Railway and Metro Projects.
- Knowledge of RAMS methodologies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Substantial knowledge in applying functional safety principles in the engineering of railway projects
- Strong working knowledge of railway industry European,safety legislation, standards (e.g. EN50126, EN50128/9 and Common Safety Methods)
- Familiarity with Authorization and Certification processes, interface with Independent Authorities
- Knowledge of RAMS analyses software.
- Knowledge of RAMS methodologies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Substantial knowledge in applying functional safety principles in the engineering of railway projects
- Strong working knowledge of railway industry European,safety legislation, standards (e.g. EN50126, EN50128/9 and Common Safety Methods)
