Job Description

Role: Laboratory Quality Manager

Location:Mumbai

Necessary Education:

• BSc with Diploma in Medical Lab Technology (DMLT) /BSc with Medical Lab Technology (MLT)
• Trained in ISO 15189, NABL 2012 onwards

Necessary Experience:

• 10+ years of relevant experience in a hospital based or stand alone or diagnostic chain of Labs.

Job Purpose

• Ensuring that processes needed for the quality management system are established, implemented, and maintained;
• Reporting to laboratory management, at the level at which decisions are made on laboratory policy, objectives, and resources, on the performance of the quality management system and any need for improvement;
• Ensuring the promotion of awareness of users needs and requirements throughout the laboratory organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Service

1. Monitor and drive adherence to the policies and procedures and by-laws across the department.

2. Monitor that all samples received in the Department of Laboratory Medicine from In-patient and Out-patient departments of Top Hospital are conducted as per established quality norms and good laboratory practices.

3. Conduct periodic referral laboratory assessment as per the agreed norms

4. Lead in accreditation related activities

5. Ensure proper patient and staff safety standards are met through compliance with laboratory quality and safety standards.

6. Resolution of complaints

7. Feedback from customers Doctors & Patients

8. Define Quality policy & implementation

9. Prepare Lab Quality Manual as per accreditation requirements.

10. Define, implement and monitor standards of performance and quality improvement of the medical laboratory service or services;

11. Co-ordinate with technical staff for preparation of all Technical SOPs

12. Assist the Laboratory Director in Contingency plan formulation & implementation

Growth

1. Participate in health programs in the hospital, outreach activities or communities as per the requirement.

2. Assist Lab Director in conduction of periodic audits to gauge quality and safety of Laboratory services & Management Review Meeting (MRM) & closures.

3. Any other responsibility as assigned by the organization, hospital and departments seniors as per the need.

Quality

1. Define analytical Quality control protocols & assist in CAPA documentation of outliers.

2. Monitor quality indicators and implement corrective and preventive actions

3. Ensure all quality-related documents are accurately maintained and routinely updated

4. Co-ordinate with sections & Lab Director for closure of CQIs.

Finance

1. Ensure optimal utilization of enrolment in QC programmes as per accreditation requirements

2. Ensure Optimal utilization of IQC material in the department & prevent wastage.

People

1. Conduct quality awareness programs as per need basis

2. Coordinate and collaborate with the hospital Quality Team for functional guidance & inputs and implement in the Lab

3. Participate in interdepartmental meetings, committees and fulfill all responsibilities as assigned.

Innovation & Research

1. Give suggestions & feedback to further improvise on services & growth of Department.

Desirable:

• Masters degree
