Quality Assurance Executive

Job Description

Role :

A QA Executive is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems to ensure that cosmetics products such as creams, lotions, shampoos, and makeup are safe, effective, and compliant with regulatory requirements.

They monitor all stages of productionfrom raw materials to finished productsto maintain consistent quality.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Quality Management System (QMS)

• Implement and maintain Quality Management Systems.
  
• Ensure compliance with **ISO standards (e.g., ISO 22716 for cosmetics GMP).
  
• Prepare and update SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), policies, and quality manuals.
  

2. Raw Material Quality Control

• Approve and inspect incoming raw materials and packaging materials.
  
• Verify Certificates of Analysis (COA) from suppliers.
  
• Ensure materials meet product specifications before production.
  

3. In-Process Quality Checks

• Monitor production processes such as mixing, filling, labeling, and packaging.
  
• Conduct in-process inspections to ensure batch consistency.
  
• Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  

4. Finished Product Testing

• Coordinate with QC laboratory for tests such as:
  
• pH testing
  
• viscosity testing
  
• microbial limits
  
• stability testing
  
• appearance and fragrance evaluation
  
• Release finished products only after approval.
  

5. Documentation & Record Keeping

• Maintain records such as:
  
• Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR)
  
• Batch Packaging Records (BPR)
  
• Quality reports and test results.
  
• Ensure proper documentation for audits and inspections.
  

6. Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure products comply with national cosmetic regulations (in India under Central Drugs Standard Control Organization).
  
• Verify labeling requirements, ingredient lists, and product claims.
  

7. Internal Audits & Inspections

• Conduct internal quality audits.
  
• Identify non-conformities and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  
• Support external audits by certification bodies.
  

8. Handling Deviations & Customer Complaints

• Investigate product deviations and defects.
  
• Analyze customer complaints and returns.
  
• Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  

9. Training & Awareness

• Train production staff on GMP, hygiene, and quality procedures.
  
• Ensure workers follow safety and quality standards.
  

10. Supplier Quality Management

• Evaluate and approve raw material suppliers.
  
• Conduct supplier audits to ensure quality compliance.
