Job Title: QA Automation Engineer (SDET) Python

Department: Quality Engineering / Software Development Engineering in Test (SDET)
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and proactive QA Automation Engineer (SDET) with 5 10 years of experience in Python-based automation. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in test automation frameworks, Linux-based environments, and modern DevOps tools. You ll be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test suites for robust software systems while working closely with development, DevOps, and product teams.
Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Python and Pytest framework.
Build and enhance scalable automation frameworks for functional, regression, and integration testing.
Work in Linux-based environments , including shell scripting and system-level troubleshooting.
Troubleshoot and debug test failures, pinpointing issues in application code or environments.
Integrate automation tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
Use Docker containers for isolated testing environments and deployment simulations.
Collaborate with developers and DevOps engineers to ensure high test coverage and shift-left testing practices.
Test and validate applications deployed in AWS environments (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudFormation).
Analyze test results, identify quality issues, and provide actionable feedback to the engineering team.
Document test cases, test plans, and maintain traceability between requirements and tests.
Required Skills & Qualifications: 5 10 years of experience in QA automation and SDET roles.
Strong proficiency in Python , with hands-on experience using Pytest .
Solid understanding of Linux operating systems and shell scripting .
Experience with troubleshooting and debugging complex systems and test environments.
Familiarity with Docker and containerized application testing.
Proficiency in integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab).
Good understanding of AWS services and cloud-based testing strategies.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Nice to Have: Experience with performance and load testing tools.
Familiarity with monitoring tools and logging systems (e.g., ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana).
Understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful API testing.
ISTQB or other relevant testing certifications.
Preferred Qualification: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
