Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking QA Automation Engineer to lead automation efforts across our flagship maritime software platforms: Port Management System (PMIS), Pilotage Dispatch, Vessel Traffic Services (VTS), and WebVTMIS.

In this role, youll go beyond writing test scripts were looking for someone who thinks strategically about quality at scale, applies modern automation frameworks, and explores how AI tools like ChatGPT can redefine how QA is done. Youll work closely with developers, business QA analysts, and delivery teams to embed smart, scalable, and maintainable automation into every stage of our delivery pipeline.

Youll work primarily from our office to enable close collaboration with our product and engineering teams, with flexibility for occasional remote work.

Key Responsibilities

Automation Development & Strategy

Design and implement automated test frameworks for web (Angular UI), APIs, and data validation across multiple products.
Develop, maintain, and scale automation scripts using C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, and SQL.
Drive end-to-end automation coverage for functional, regression, and integration testing.
Integrate automation into our CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
Evaluate and adopt modern automation tools and AI-powered testing accelerators that can improve speed, coverage, or maintainability.

AI-Enhanced QA Thinking

Use tools like ChatGPT and other LLMs to:
- Propose new AI-based approaches to quality engineering beyond traditional test scripting.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with manual QA analysts to transform business test cases into reusable automation scenarios.
Work alongside developers to integrate testing early in the SDLC and ensure code-level reliability.
Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure automated testing supports customer-specific configurations and deployment cycles.
Support issue reproduction, root cause identification, and post-deployment validation in close coordination with support and delivery.

Reporting, Documentation & Governance

Ensure test results are traceable, actionable, and integrated into release reporting.
Monitor test health and automation coverage metrics; optimize where needed.
Maintain clear documentation for automated test suites, coverage, and contribution guidelines.
Generate test case variations.
Assist in exploratory test design.
Analyze large logs or error patterns.
Automate repetitive test documentation or test data generation.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

3 years of experience in QA automation for enterprise applications.
Strong hands-on skills in:
- Experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Git repositories, pipelines, and automated build/test workflows.
- Strategic thinker with a passion for quality, automation, and continuous improvement.

Preferred

Interest or experience using AI/LLM tools (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, testbots) to accelerate or rethink QA activities.
Familiarity with maritime, port, or logistics systems.
Knowledge of REST API testing, Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI specs.
Understanding of performance or load testing using JMeter, k6, etc.
Experience working in an Agile delivery environment across multi-product teams.
C# for backend/API automation.
JavaScript/TypeScript (for Angular frontend testing).
SQL for backend data validation.
