Job Description

Purchase Manager will be responsible for procuring packaging materials as per the requirements, material planning and inventory management. He\She will co-ordinate with all the sites, plants for Procurement, Material Planning Inventory Management, Production, Logistics, Accounts, IT, Sales, QA functions.

1. Work out Procurement Plan based on the sales forecast BOM.

2. Review of raw material status on a weekly basis from all the plants and alert plants on any variations in stocks.

3. Exploring saving potentials, through various options, to move in market place to find the best prices, especially for commodities viz. Sugar, Fruit Pulp, Juices etc.

4. Develop Packaging material by co-ordinating with Corrugation Box, Tray, Sleeve, Closure manufacturers etc as per marketing needs.

5. Consolidating tender prices on regular basis and have tab on tender release dates.

6. Prepare Purchase orders, inform accounts for execution of RTGS and other formalities where applicable.

7. Ensuring the integrity of the packaging material and updating changes in technical specifications if any.

8. Quarterly review of the rates for key Packaging material.

9. Meeting vendors and developing new and better vendors while retaining the existing vendors.

10. Final negotiations with all vendors to work out the best possible rates.

11. Streamlining SAP processes and ensuring its smooth functioning

12. Ensuring minimum variance of packaging material at all the locations

13. Centralized negotiation of rates for Chemicals, Plant Consumables to conduct reverse auction of scraps for plants etc.

Educational, Experience Skills Required:

1. Post Graduate (preferably with professional qualitification in procurement\packaging).
