Purchase Engineer - Supply Chain - (Nallasopara)

Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Visit vendors regularly to monitor production status, quality, and delivery schedules.

Develop and evaluate new vendors for machining, casting, fabrication, sheet metal, plastic, wire, and gear manufacturing.
Source and manage vendors for raw materials and bought-out components.
Track production progress at vendor locations and ensure on-time deliveries.
Coordinate with vendors and the Quality team to resolve quality issues and reduce rejection rates.
Support cost reduction initiatives through supplier negotiations and value engineering.
Negotiate prices, payment terms, lead times, and commercial conditions with vendors.
Identify alternate and local suppliers to reduce procurement risk and improve supply chain efficiency.
Monitor outsourced manufacturing activities and ensure adherence to company standards.
Maintain vendor documentation, audit records, agreements, and compliance documents.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports using Tally Prime and Microsoft Excel.
Coordinate with Production, Stores, Planning, and Quality departments for smooth material flow.
Escalate critical supply issues and ensure timely resolution.
