Job Description

A Civil Project Engineer for a Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) company is responsible for managing the design, construction, and renovation of restaurant locations, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and adhere to brand standards. This role is heavily focused on rapid, high-volume retail rollouts, fit-outs, and maintaining existing Back of House (BOH) infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Project Execution & Rollout: Manage end-to-end construction, renovation, and fit-out projects for new and existing QSR stores.
• Site Survey & Feasibility: Conduct technical site evaluations, analyze site layouts, and assess potential risks and costs before and during construction.
• MEP & Utility Coordination: Oversee Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) infrastructure, including kitchen equipment installation, HVAC, and power systems.
• Budget & Cost Control: Manage CAPEX, prepare budget estimations, and monitor costs per sq. ft. to ensure adherence to financial targets.
• Vendor & Contractor Management: Partner with OEMs, contractors, and vendors to ensure quality standards and timelines are met.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure all construction activities comply with local safety standards, building codes, and regulations.
• Documentation & Reporting: Prepare regular progress reports (daily/weekly/monthly), manage As-built drawings, and handle project closure documentation.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Experience: 35+ years in civil engineering, project management, or construction, preferably in retail, QSR, or commercial fit-outs.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, MEP system knowledge, and understanding of construction materials.
• Project Management: Strong knowledge of project management software and scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project).
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Typical Working Conditions

• Travel: High requirement for site visits, inspecting construction progress, and coordinating with local teams.
• Environment: Splits time between an office setting (planning) and on-site, in various weather conditions.
