Program Leader/Program Manager/Senior Program Manager - Strategic & Institutional Communications

Location - Mumbai

1. JOB OVERVIEW, JOB BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE


Piramal Foundation is seeking young professionals to build a career in strategy led development communications. This role will anchor the Foundations narrative and drive cohesive, high-impact communication across platforms.


The Program Leader focuses on execution, coordination, and production of communication assets, The role acts as the coordination hub between program teams, communication agencies, designers, and digital platforms, ensuring that stories, insights, and program updates are converted into structured communication outputs.


The Senior/Program Manager will translate leadership vision into a clear communication architecture and ensure end-to-end execution across programs and teams. Strengthening the Foundations institutional voice, credibility with partners and donors, and external influence.
The role will span driving high-quality content and creative storytelling across formats, strengthening digital presence, driving public relations, thought leadership, external engagement and events, and responding dynamically to communication needs across programs and teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES for PROGRAM LEADER


2.1 Communication Planning & Execution

a. Execute communication plans through structured and agile content calendars

b. Drive end-to-end development of assets across digital, print, video, and events

c. Ensure sharp timelines, seamless rollouts, and disciplined execution

2.2 Cross-Functional Coordination

a. Act as the communication SPOC for program teams, sourcing stories, insights, and updates from the field

b.Translate program inputs into communication briefs and structured outputs

c. Coordinate with agencies and creators to deliver high-quality assets

d. Identify emerging stories and opportunities to showcase program impact

2.3 Brand Integrity & Quality Control

a. Manage approval workflows with clarity and precision

b. Review outputs for coherence, accuracy, and narrative sharpness

2.4. Content Strategy & Analytics

a. Research emerging trends, formats, and platform conversations

b. Track social media and digital performance metrics

c. Generate insights and recommend content improvements


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES For SENIOR/MANAGER


3.1 Lead Communication Strategy & Institutional Positioning

a. Translate Communication Directors vision into annual and quarterly communication strategy

b. Anchor narrative architecture (positioning, message, communication outputs) and execution (across platforms, channels, content, resources and monitoring)

c. Lead cross-functional planning with various stakeholders to align messaging and execution

3.2 Ensure Quality & Strategic Influence

a. Own quality assurance for high-leverage outputs (board decks, donor briefs, leadership notes, strategic presentations)

b. Strengthen executive communications and thought leadership; ensuring clarity, coherence, and institutional credibility

c. Track and improve reputation and influence metrics through dashboards, insight loops, and periodic reviews

3.3 Manage Communications & Talent

a. Build Communication products and team capability in storytelling, analytics, and structured execution

b. Coach performance, provide feedback, and coach toward higher quality standards

c. Foster cross-functional collaboration and shared meaning-making

3.4 Build Communication Systems & Governance

a. Institutionalise communication processes, approval workflows, and brand governance

b. Strengthen dashboards and reporting mechanisms for leadership visibility

c. Align organisational resources to deliver communication priorities at scale

3.5Leadership Narrative & Institutional Voice

a. Shape and steward the leadership narrative of the Foundation across internal and external platforms

b. Ensure that institutional messaging reflects the Foundations long-term philosophy and credibility in the development ecosystem

  • Experience in crafting high-quality communication assets, creative & publications, website, digital, & social initiatives, driving thought leadership

D. Experience

  • Leader (0-3 years)/Manager (5 - 8 years) / Sr Manager (7 -10 years) in communications, corporate communications, consulting, public policy, social or development sector
  • Postgraduate degree in Communications, Media, Marketing, or related field
  • Experience leading communication strategy and managing teams preferred
  • Experience in development sector communications preferred
