Job Description
Please find below detailed role and responsibility for PostgreSQL L1 candidate.
Installation of PostgreSQL on Linux-based systems using RPM, APT, or source.(versions 9.6, 10 ,11, 12 etc.
Perform initial configuration (e.g., postgresql.conf, pg_hba.conf) based on environment requirements.
Creation of databases and configuration of rules in PG hba.conf file.
Creation of users and assigning roles & permissions to the users.
Performed Database Cloning and refresh on to Test environment using pg_dump and cold backup methods.
Regularly Monitoring Alert log.
Monitoring and maintaining DBs for their Optimal Performance and ensuring availability of the DB’s.
Analyze the logs daily and fix any Postgres issues reported in the logs
Performing backups using SQL dump Utilities ( PG Dump) and PG Base backup utilities.
Experience in taking regular Backups.
Knowledge on Restore/Recover of cluster databases.
Experience on upgrade of Postgres databases.
Experience in setting up Streaming replication.
Experience to configure PG Badger .
