Plant Quality Head (AGM/DGM)

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Plant Quality Head to lead the overall quality function across the manufacturing plant. The incumbent will be responsible for driving Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with quality management systems and customer requirements. The role involves leading a team of Quality Managers and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve world-class manufacturing quality standards.

Key Responsibilities :-

• Lead and mentor a team of Quality Managers to achieve plant quality objectives.
• Develop and implement plant-wide quality strategies, systems, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) across machining, fabrication, material inspection, heat treatment, chrome plating, coating, painting, assembly, and dispatch.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and other quality methodologies.
• Analyze customer complaints, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement CAPA (Corrective & Preventive Actions).
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards and customer-specific quality requirements.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Erection & Commissioning teams to improve manufacturing quality and efficiency.
• Develop supplier quality improvement programs and monitor supplier performance.
• Review quality KPIs, prepare MIS reports, dashboards, and management presentations.
• Lead internal audits, external audits, customer audits, and quality inspections.
• Promote a culture of quality, safety, accountability, and operational excellence across the plant.

Required Skills & Competencies:-

• Strong knowledge of quality management systems and manufacturing quality assurance.
• Hands-on experience in machining, fabrication, materials, heat treatment, coating, plating, and assembly processes.
• Sound knowledge of quality tools such as 7 QC Tools, SPC, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA, 8D, Root Cause Analysis, CAPA, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma.
• Good understanding of modern manufacturing practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
