Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- Fire System Management: Ensure up time and reliability of hydrants, sprinklers, extinguishers, pumps, and related systems through regular inspections and monitoring
- Fire Detection & Alarm Systems: Monitor fire alarm panels, conduct periodic testing of detectors and alarm systems, and maintain compliance logs
- Preventive Maintenance: Implement annual preventive maintenance plans, coordinate with AMC vendors, and ensure all systems are serviced and certified
- Work Permit & Hazard Control: Enforce Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems for high-risk activities, conduct risk assessments, and ensure contractor safety compliance
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain Emergency Response Plans (ERP), conduct fire drills and evacuation exercises, and act as Incident Controller during emergencies
- Fire Safety Training & Induction: Conduct structured fire safety training programs, new employee induction sessions, contractor safety briefings, and hands-on demonstrations
- Safety Awareness & Culture Building: Drive fire safety awareness campaigns, toolbox talks, and periodic communication to promote a proactive safety culture
- Incident Management: Investigate incidents and near misses, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
- Compliance & Documentation: Maintain audit-ready records and ensure compliance with statutory requirements including NBC, Fire NOC, and Form A & B
- Audit & Inspection Management: Support internal and external audits, conduct periodic safety inspections, and ensure timely closure of audit observations
- Vendor & Contract Management: Manage AMC contracts, track vendor performance, and ensure service quality
- Inventory & Procurement: Maintain stock of fire safety equipment and ensure all materials meet BIS/ISI standards
- Emergency Equipment Readiness: Ensure availability and functionality of emergency exits, signage, emergency lighting, and firefighting equipment at all times
- Contractor Safety Management: Ensure all contractors follow fire safety norms and are trained before starting work
- Drill Evaluation & Improvement: Analyze fire drill performance, identify gaps, and implement improvement actions
- Regulatory Liaison: Coordinate with fire authorities and ensure timely renewals, inspections, and approvals
- HSE Integration & Coordination: Collaborate with Admin and Facility management to integrate fire safety into overall HSE systems
- Reporting & MIS: Maintain centralized databases, track KPIs, prepare dashboards, and share periodic reports with management
Skills: -
- Strong knowledge of fire protection, detection, and alarm systems
o Expertise in risk assessment, hazard identification, and mitigation
o Good understanding of statutory compliance (NBC 2016, Fire NOC, etc.)
o Strong coordination and vendor management skills
o Proficiency in documentation, audits, and reporting systems
o Effective communication and training skills - Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Web Portals
o Strong communication skills
Willingness to travel.
