Occupational Therapist

Job Description

About the position:

The Occupational Therapist with work with children with developmental disabilities, especially Global Developmental Delays, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, specific physical and mental difficulties. These children are either reunited with their parents are placed in Adoption so this will help in their rehabilitation by developing appropriate goals, meaningful to them, and accordingly the therapist will implement the treatment plan. The therapist will conduct various group-based interventions for children with developmental disabilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Sensory Integration and Neuro Developmental Treatment Assessments
• Developing intervention and home program for the child
• Documentation: Reports and treatment plan
• Assist in group interventions
• Assist the team with specific questions related to speech and other development of the child during rehabilitation process
• Provide information to Pediatrician and other therapist with regards to assessments, intervention and future goals.
• Prepare a weekly schedule of children receiving intervention

Desired Skills Required:

Preference will be given to candidates with basic knowledge of:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors or Master?s degree in Occupational Therapy

Essentials Skills Required:

• Sensory Integration and its application in practice
• Play based intervention
• Prior experience of working with developmental disabilities will be desirable.
• Commitment to working at Bal Asha Trust (at least 2 years)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Good computer skills
• Adherence to deadlines and appointments
