Educational Qualification

Mandatory: B.Sc. Nursing and Valid State Nursing Council Registration.

Preferred: M.Sc. Nursing. Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

Experience

Assistant Manager: 8-12 years of nursing experience with significant exposure to Emergency/Trauma/Critical Care settings. Minimum 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

Manager: 12-15 years of nursing experience with at least 2-3 years in a managerial role within ER, Trauma, or Critical Care services.

Preferred Exposure to NABH/JCI accredited hospitals.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Manager / Manager - Nursing (ER) to lead emergency nursing operations and ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. The role is responsible for overseeing clinical nursing services within the Emergency Department, managing nursing manpower, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards, driving patient satisfaction, and supporting operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical expertise in emergency and critical care nursing, leadership capabilities, and experience in hospital quality and accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Operational Excellence

• Lead and supervise emergency nursing services to ensure safe, timely, and evidence-based patient care.
• Ensure efficient triage, assessment, stabilization, transfer, admission, and discharge processes.
• Monitor compliance with ER clinical protocols, patient safety standards, and nursing care pathways.
• Ensure preparedness for emergencies, trauma cases, disaster management, and Code Blue situations.
• Coordinate with physicians, clinical departments, ambulance services, and support functions for seamless patient care.
• Conduct patient rounds and address patient/family concerns promptly.

Team Management

• Manage nursing manpower, duty rosters, staffing allocation, and skill mix based on patient acuity.
• Mentor, coach, and develop nursing teams to achieve high clinical standards.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, competency assessments, and performance management.
• Collaborate with Nurse Educators to identify training needs and execute learning plans.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Quality & Patient Safety

• Ensure compliance with NABH/JCI standards, infection prevention practices, and International Patient Safety Goals (IPSG).
• Monitor nursing quality indicators, patient safety incidents, and infection control metrics.
• Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for incidents and near misses.
• Participate in audits, quality improvement programs, and accreditation initiatives.
• Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation within the Hospital Information System (HIS).
