Network Planning Engineer

Job Description

• Network Planning & Execution: Design, plan, and optimize linehaul routes and schedules for air network operations. Oversee execution of planned linehaul activities, ensuring adherence to schedules and service standards.
• Performance & Capacity Management: Monitor and manage performance of commercial linehaul operations. Track and adjust capacity to meet demand and operational requirements.
• Linehaul & Network Analysis: Analyze network efficiency, costs, and service quality. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Demand & Control Adjustment: Adjust linehaul plans in response to commercial demand, disruptions, or special requirements.
• Systems & Invoice Verification: Utilize linehaul management systems for planning and execution. Verify commercial linehaul invoices for accuracy and compliance.
• Vendor Collaboration: Work alongside vendors and suppliers to ensure service quality and resolve operational issues.
• Process & Procedure Coordination: Coordinate and analyze processes and procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness. Participate in or coordinate audits and reviews of existing processes or documentation.
• Reporting & Data Management: Validate and complete accurate, timely reporting on linehaul performance and compliance. Compile and analyze data from relevant sources; prepare reports and recommendations for improvement.
• Compliance: Ensure ongoing compliance with FedEx processes, relevant legislation, and external regulations. Undertake corrective actions and notify management of non-compliance issues.
• Continuous Improvement: Lead or participate in projects to enhance linehaul processes, controls, and systems. Support implementation and communication of changes internally and to vendors.
• Stakeholder Alignment: Align and gain commitment to actions across teams and stakeholders, including customers, other departments, and vendors.
• Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, adapting to changing business needs.

Additional Leadership Responsibilities

• Mentoring & Guidance: Provide guidance and support to junior team members and new hires, sharing knowledge and best practices.
• Project Leadership: Take ownership of assigned projects, driving them to completion and reporting progress to management.
• Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives to implement changes.
