MS SQL Database Administrator L2

We are seeking an experienced MS SQL Database Administrator (L2) for our infrastructure team in Fort, Mumbai. The role requires strong expertise in SQL Server administration, Failover Cluster, Always ON Availability Groups, Replication, and Database Performance Tuning. The selected candidate will ensure high availability, stability, and performance of enterprise SQL environments.

Key Responsibilities:-

• Proactively monitor logs, events, replication, and DR database availability.



• Configure and manage Always ON and Failover Clusters for high availability.



• Manage transaction replication, log shipping, and linked servers.



• Perform database installation, configuration, patching, and hardening.



• Handle database migrations, backup, and restoration.



• Monitor and troubleshoot DB performance, sessions, queries, and locks.



• Purge logs, rebuild indexes, defragment databases, and tune DB parameters.



• Automate routine DBA tasks and maintain documentation for all environments.



• Provide monthly reports on database availability and performance.



• Respond to database incidents and drive corrective actions following ITIL standards.

Must-Have Skills:-

• MS SQL Server Administration with 4 6 years hands-on experience.



• Strong knowledge of Always ON and Failover Clusters.



• Expertise in Transaction Replication, Linked Servers, and Log Shipping.



• Proficiency in Database Patching, Hardening, and Migration.



• Troubleshooting and resolving performance issues in large SQL environments.

Education:

• B .E./B.Tech/Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or Electronics & Telecommunication (Civil/Mechanical not preferred)



• B.Sc. (IT)



• BCA or MCA (Full-time, from reputed university)



• No gap in education

Good-to-Have Skills:-

• Relevant Microsoft SQL Server certifications.



• Knowledge of problem management, trend analysis, and automation scripting.



• Familiarity with banking/financial domain databases.
