Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. To work closely with Deans, Heads, Quality Assurance Team, staff and students in order to ensure an outstanding student experience.

2. To be the focal point for students from all programs to report any issues relating to quality, both academic and non-academic. He/She must be available for the students to solve any problems they face in relation to delivery of the course, learning outcomes, and overall quality of the program. He/She would be required to meet with students regularly to understand the problems they may be facing, maintain a record of all issues faced by students, and ensure steps are taken to solve their problems.

3. To work with focus groups of students by to discuss key student related issues and report back to the Dean and Head of Campus on the outcome of those focus groups. He/she must work with Student Committees and student representatives to ensure student experiences are exceptional.

4. To review student feedback and analyze trends in feedback from year to year.

To attend (either in person or via VC) all townhall meetings and follow up on student feedback received through these meetings

Technical & Behavioural Competencies

1. Excellent oral and written communication skills

2. Ability to compile, organize and analyse data using quantitative and qualitative tools

3. Ability to work independently and initiate action quickly to solve problems

4. Ability to work in a team and inter-personal skills to interact effectively with Faculty, Deans, Staff and Students

5. Ability to handle student issues with maturity and responsibility

The ability to gain credibility and build relationships across the University at all levels

Qualification

A postgraduate degree in any discipline

Experience

Experience in managing student affairs, particularly student experience, in a reputable educational Institution for a minimum of two years
