Job Description
Role Purpose
To lead and manage the Human Resources and Industrial Relations function across corporate and plant operations by ensuring effective manpower management, employee engagement, statutory compliance, union handling, disciplinary processes, and implementation of HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources
- Drive end-to-end HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, learning & development, and retention initiatives.
- Partner with business leaders and plant heads to support manpower planning and organizational development.
- Implement HR policies, systems, and processes across corporate and manufacturing locations.
- Manage employee lifecycle activities including confirmations, transfers, promotions, grievances, and exit formalities.
- Support leadership in talent management and succession planning initiatives.
- Ensure timely closure of employee concerns and promote a positive work culture.
- Prepare and analyze HR MIS, dashboards, attrition reports, manpower reports, and productivity metrics.
- Drive PMS and competency-based evaluation processes.
Industrial Relations
- Handle IR matters including union interactions, wage settlements, disciplinary actions, domestic inquiries, and grievance handling.
- Maintain harmonious industrial relations across plant locations.
- Ensure compliance with labour laws and statutory regulations including:
- Factories Act
- Industrial Disputes Act
- Shops & Establishment Act
- Contract Labour Act
- PF, ESIC, Bonus, Gratuity, and other labour compliances
- Coordinate with government authorities, labour officers, and external consultants whenever required.
- Manage contractor compliance and audits.
- Support plant HR teams during inspections, conciliation matters, and legal proceedings.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to company policies, labour laws, and statutory requirements.
- Maintain HR documentation, employee records, and compliance registers.
- Participate in internal and external audits related to HR & IR.
Desired Candidate Profile
- MBA / PGDM in Human Resources / Personnel Management / Labour Welfare or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in HR & IR functions within manufacturing, packaging, FMCG, chemical, plastics, or industrial sectors preferred.
- Strong exposure to plant HR operations and industrial relations.
- Sound knowledge of labour laws and statutory compliances.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage workforce issues with maturity and professionalism.
- Proficiency in HRMS, MS Excel, and HR analytics.
- Ready to travel to the plants on a monthly basis
