Job Description

Orchids The International School is seeking a passionate and organized Librarian to manage and enhance the schools library resources. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining an engaging and well-structured learning environment that fosters a love for reading and research among students. They will oversee the organization, cataloging, and accessibility of books and digital resources while supporting students and teachers in their academic needs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Library Management & Organization

Maintain an updated catalog of books, journals, and digital resources.
Ensure proper classification, labeling, and storage of materials.
Implement library policies for book lending, returns, and replacements.

2. Student & Staff Engagement

Promote a reading culture by organizing storytelling sessions, book fairs, and reading challenges.
Assist students and staff in locating and using library resources effectively.
Guide students in research and referencing techniques for academic projects.

3. Digital & Resource Management

Manage and update digital learning platforms and e-resources.
Introduce students to online research tools and databases.
Stay updated on educational trends and recommend new books/resources.

4. Collaboration & Support

Work closely with teachers to provide relevant materials that align with the curriculum.
Support students with special reading needs by curating age-appropriate and diverse reading materials.
Maintain discipline and ensure a conducive learning environment in the library.
