Role & responsibilities :

As a Legal Counsel, you will support the legal team in providing legal assistance across equities, investment banking, and asset management businesses.

1. Contract Support: Assist in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating routine agreements such as vendor contracts, engagement

letters, IT contracts, business communications, and other standard legal documentation.

2. Regulatory & Compliance Assistance: Support the team in monitoring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry guidelines relevant to Ambits business activities, especially SEBI market intermediaries.

3. Risk Support: Help identify potential legal risks and escalate issues to senior team members for mitigation and resolution.

4.Transaction Assistance: Provide support on in-house legal work related to group transactions, including exposure to joint ventures,

court schemes, and share purchase agreements, under supervision.

5. Policy & Documentation: Assist in the drafting, updating, and implementation of internal policies, SOPs, and legal manuals.

6. Dispute & Litigation Support: Support senior counsel in managing litigation matters, regulatory inquiries, and dispute-related

documentation.

7. Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with internal teams such as compliance, business units, and operations to gather information

and facilitate legal processes.

Preferred candidate profile

• Desire to develop a career as in-house legal counsel
• Strong communication skills - verbal and written
• Keen sense of tracking regulatory developments and a genuine interest in the legal sphere
• Networked in the legal fraternity
• Exposure to legal work of other jurisdiction (such as Singapore, UAE, US) is preferred
• Prior experience in SEBI litigation is preferred.
• Experience working in a capital market especially investment bank is preferable.
