Job Description
Job location - Churchgate
Please note this is a full-time job and No Legal retainership is allowed
Candidate Requirement-
- LLB/LLM from a reputed institution; Additional certifications in Arbitration, Infrastructure Law, or Maritime Law will be an advantage.
- Min. 3- 5 years + legal experience
- Willing to travel in and outside Mumbai
- Candidates with knowledge of legal matters and arbitration matters related to real estate (for example lands, properties, plots, ports & shipping etc.) will have a plus point.
- Worked with a Solicitor firm for a minimum of 3 years
- Attended City Civil, and High Court matters
Roles and Responsibilities -
- Draft various legal documents such as contracts, notices, affidavits, MOU, agreements, deeds, declarations, POA, etc. for real estate, port, engineering services, etcStructure and execute contracts for joint ventures, civil engineering, ports, shipping, and dredging verticals.
- Represent the company and attend hearings in various courts.
- Liaise with various external lawyers and counsels.
- Advise management on contractual rights, risks, and obligations across ongoing and prospective projects.
- Negotiate with counter-parties for legal clearances, tenders, and contracts.
- Lead dispute resolution, arbitration, and litigation proceedings in contractual matters.
- Monitor compliance with statutory, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
- Provide legal input in board meetings, investor communications, and inter-departmental project reviews.
- Maintain a robust contract management system and legal documentation database.
- Stay updated with amendments in various laws as per matters assigned such as contract law, marine laws, environment laws, and infrastructure regulations.
- Visit offices of various Government authorities as required.
- Execute tasks as per the direction of Management and senior-level employees.
- Provide legal support to various business functions and projects.
- Continuously monitor changes in the laws, regulations and policies relating to business projects.
- Strong command of English and Marathi (both written and verbal).
- Ability to interact independently with various external stakeholders.
- Very strong MS Office and computer skills.
- Strong ability to follow schedules, multitask and work within timelines.
Remuneration: This will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
