Job Overview: Join our team in Chennai as a Textile Designer! We're seeking someone with a flair for creativity and a deep understanding of design development. You'll generate original designs for home linens, staying updated on global trends to ensure our products remain cutting-edge. Collaborate with our product development team to translate these designs into commercially viable products. Additionally, you'll manage product photography and photoshoot coordination, capturing high-quality images for marketing materials. Your understanding of textile production processes will be crucial as you ensure design feasibility for manufacturing and optimize production processes. Cataloging and market research will also be part of your responsibilities, contributing to the continued success of our collections. Join us in creating innovative designs and shaping the future of home textiles. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design Development Generate original textile designs for home linen products. Explore with colors, textures, prints, motifs, patterns, yarn combinations, and more to develop innovative design concepts Collaborate with the product development team to translate design concepts into commercially viable products. Stay updated on global design trends, consumer preferences, and market demands 2. Understanding of Textile Production Processes: Understanding various textile types, their construction, properties, and purpose-specific differences. . Knowledge of textile production processes, including weaving, dyeing and printing techniques, along with associated challenges. Demonstrate knowledge of weaving techniques, stitching methods, and digital printing artworks. Ensure design concepts are feasible for manufacturing and meet quality standards. Collaborate with production teams to optimize production processes and troubleshoot any design-related issues. 3. Cataloging: Develop comprehensive product catalogs showcasing our latest collections. Ensure accurate and appealing product representation through catalog layout and design. Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to create promotional materials for trade shows, exhibitions, and online platforms. Manage a fabric samples library, inclusive of technical specification packages for each product and design created. 4. Market Research: Stay abreast of the latest design and production techniques, market demands, and advancements in textile technology. Analyze market data to make informed decisions regarding product design and development. Present findings and recommendations to senior management to inform strategic business decisions. 5. Product Photography and Photoshoot Coordination: Capture high-quality product photographs for use in marketing materials, catalogs, and online platforms. Plan and organize photoshoots for new product collections Qualifications: Relevant Experience in Home Textile Industry Proficiency in Design Software: Strong proficiency in design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and CAD software specific to textile design, such as CorelDRAW. The ability to effectively utilize these tools is essential for creating and manipulating textile designs, patterns, and colorways. This includes the ability to create technical drawings, color separations, and print-ready files for production. Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is a must. Proficiency in local languages such as Tamil / Malayalam may be advantageous. Additional Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or related field from a reputed College / University Proven experience as a Textile Designer in the home textile industry, preferably with a focus on exports to the US and global markets. Proficiency in product photography. Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and a keen eye for detail.
