Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Develop, optimize, and maintain backend services using Python (FastAPI) and Java (Spring Boot or similar frameworks).
Design and implement RESTful and asynchronous APIs with high performance and reliability.
Work with both SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring efficient schema design and query optimization.
Build and maintain distributed systems following microservices architecture.
Collaborate cross-functionally to design system workflows and integrate backend components with other services.
Deploy and maintain applications on AWS, ensuring scalability, observability, and security.
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code with proper documentation.
Participate in code reviews, contribute to technical discussions, and recommend best practices.
Use logging, monitoring, and alerting tools for debugging and improving service performance.

Preferred candidate profile

Strong programming skills in Python with deep understanding of FastAPI.
Hands-on experience with Java, preferably using Spring Boot for building backend services.
Experience working with SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL databases.
Experience with microservices, service communication patterns, and event-driven systems.
Solid understanding of API design, authentication, and authorization.
Familiarity with AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, S3, DynamoDB, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.).
Experience with deployment pipelines (CI/CD), Docker, or containerized environments.
Strong debugging, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.

Good to Have

Experience working with DynamoDB.
Exposure to GraphQL (queries, mutations, schema design).
Experience with messaging platforms like Kafka / SQS / SNS.
Understanding of distributed caching systems like Redis.
Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform / CloudFormation.
Experience working in polyglot environments (Python + Java services).
