Job Description

1. Responsible for OP/IP and Day care billing of all the services provided in the hospital. 2. Ensure thorough verification of all the doctors prescriptions, investigations, and procedures, and communicate with the patient on the estimated amount to be paid. 3. Take concurrence with the patient before raising the bill. 4. Ensures correct investigation / service code, procedure and guarantor are selected in the HMIS application with relevant tariff. 5. Responsible for capture of all services in bill via audit against case sheet and EMR. 6. Responsible for ensuring the correct amount is collected from the patient/ customer. 7. Ensure the receipt is handed to the patient and guide them to the location to which they need to proceed for the investigation/procedure/service. 8. Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing for empanelment patients. 9. Obtain referral letters and pre-authorizations as required for bills / procedures. Ensure relevant data is entered in the system and handover the copy of the bill. 10. Monitor and ensure optimal discharge and admission TATs. 11. Responsible for securing collected cash and handover at the end of his/her shift. 12. Responsible for generating the shift MIS related to cash and the bills generated both case wise and corporate wise etc. 13. Maintain necessary trackers and capture required data as assigned by his/her reporting manager.
