Job Description

ROLE

Freelance UX/UI Designer - E-commerce

Engagement: Project-based (phased - Phase 1 is approx. 1012 weeks, with possibility of extension into Phase 2 and 3)

Location: Mumbai-based (in-office presence required for a few hours a week; remote-first but must be accessible for in-person collaboration)

Start: 8th June 2026

EXPERIENCE

5+ years in UX/UI design, with a strong portfolio in e-commerce. Prior exposure to a bed & bath, home lifestyle, or apparel/fashion brand would be a meaningful advantage, not a hard requirement, but someone who understands how tactile, premium products are sold online will get up to speed much faster.

WHAT THE PROJECT INVOLVES

This is not a simple catalogue website. The scope includes a homepage with multiple interactive discovery sections, product listing and detail pages, and a full Figma design system for handoff to the development agency. Mobile-first design is non-negotiable; most of our traffic will be mobile.

KEY THINGS WE ARE LOOKING FOR

-Ecommerce portfolio is essential. Lifestyle or home category work is a strong plus.

-Evidence of designing complex interactive features - product configurators, quizzes, visualizers, try-on tools, or anything beyond static screens.

-Someone who can design a premium feel at an accessible price point - we want the site to feel editorial and warm, not cold luxury.

-Figma proficiency is a must. They should deliver a component library with variants and tokens, not just flat screens.

-Basic awareness of Shopify's constraints is helpful

- Strong visual taste; we are a considered lifestyle brand, and the aesthetics need to reflect that.

- Based in Mumbai will be a preference. The engagement is remote-first, but we will need them in the office for a few hours a week for reviews, feedback sessions, and alignment with the team.

DELIVERABLES EXPECTED

Wireframes and high-fidelity screens across all key pages, an interactive Figma prototype for the core purchase flow, and a complete design system for the development team.
