Fire & Safety Manager

Job Description

Role Overview:-

Manager Fire & Safety will lead a team of 34 Fire & Safety Managers and 5–6 Officers. This role oversees all fire and safety aspects across D Mart facilities, covering approximately 10–12 lakh sq. ft. across 150+ locations in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. The primary focus is to ensure the safety of customers, employees, and property through proactive audits, training, compliance monitoring, and emergency preparedness.

Key Responsibilities:-

- Fire & Safety Awareness & Engagement: Driving safety culture across all locations.

- Site Visits: Conducting critical and pre-opening site inspections.

- MIS Validation & Reporting: Ensuring accuracy in data and safety reporting.

- Team Leadership: Managing performance, development, and special initiatives for the safety team.

- Incident Management: Leading incident reporting, investigations, and implementing safety initiatives.

- Compliance: Ensuring strict adherence to Fire & Safety compliance norms and SOPs.

Educational Qualifications:-

- Graduate Degree (any discipline).

- Post Graduate Diploma in Fire & Safety Engineering.

- ADIS or PDIS certification.

- Experience: Minimum 10-15 years of proven experience in Fire & Safety Management, preferably in retail, malls, or large-scale commercial establishments.

Skills & Knowledge:-

- In-depth knowledge of firefighting equipment and systems (Hydrant, Sprinkler, Detection & Alarm Systems).

- Sound understanding of statutory fire safety requirements and compliance.

- Strong leadership and team management abilities.

- Proficiency in English, Hindi, and Marathi.

- Excellent report writing and analytical skills.

- Willingness to travel across regions.
